faq

You may have lost track of pensions due to changing jobs frequently, moving house without updating your details with the provider, or because pension companies have merged or been taken over by other firms. Billions of pounds in pensions are currently unclaimed in the UK.

To trace a pension effectively, gather as much information as possible:

  • The names of your previous employers and the dates you worked for them.
  • The name of the pension provider or scheme (if known).
  • Your National Insurance number.
  • Any previous names or addresses.
  • Old pension statements or policy numbers (if available).

Once you've located the provider, contact them to update your personal details and request a current statement. You can then:

  • Find out the pension's current value, fees, and retirement options.
  • Consider consolidating multiple pensions into one pot for easier management
